A Sea of Suffering

A sea of suffering surrounds me
The only safety found
In stillness
Here on the islands of self

Surfing waves of suffering…

When suffering comes… breathe. Oftentimes it is the only response available that is safe. Cry of course, scream, punch something soft, draw your pain, or paint it, but do remember to BREATHE! When life tries to heal you, let it, for on the other side be freedom from whatever ails you.

It can be hard in this world, a world that preaches not feeling, numbness and fearlessness, it can be hard to admit to sadness, rage, and even grief after the loss of a loved one. When people are really sad the world has labelled it as wrong, as a depression, as a mental health ‘issue’. But what if, quite simply, lots of really sad stuff has happened and the body has found a way to releasing it? What if medicines that stop the feeling stop the healing too? Just thinking out loud here.

Of course, pharmaceuticals can be used alongside other remedies and healing modalities, but the totalitarian approach of the doctors with ‘professional’ degrees astounds me. It’s as though only their knowledge matters, only their way matters, it is somewhat cult-like in all honesty. To deny reality, to deny SCIENCE, is the modern world’s greatest sin.

There is much that can be used to help people, with the number one starting point always being that of nutrition and vitamin therapy. Did you know that a deficiency in Niacin (Vitamin B3) can be the reason for recurring episodes of depression, and that this vitamin in high doses supports recovery from many ‘mental health’ diagnoses, including bipolar, addiction and schizophrenia? Where is that in the two page pamphlet ‘they’ give you as you walk out the door, scared, alone, and intimidated by your own miscomprehension of what is happening within you? As you walk out with a pill prescribed, one with many side effects and other risks? Where be the love, honesty and integrity? That’s all I’m asking here…
