Some make it to the end of the tunnel… let them be your light…

When a person comes to successfully help themselves, only then are they qualified to help another person. Compassion, empathy, lived experience, all qualifications of a healing guide, one who holds space and points you in the direction and source of your suffering (inwards), while pointing to helpful tips and resources at the same time, lest you get lost.

Where modern society places training and qualified ‘professionals’, many of whom will not have not commenced their own healing journeys, in charge of another’s recovery, it begs the question, ‘Are they really qualified?’ Can a person who has not sat within the confines of trauma and successfully escaped that version of hell ever lead another out of it? Will someone crying their sadness out of them heal because a doctor prescribed a pill? Or because they permit their sadness and allow the tears to flow like a river does, and find healing in the years beyond that flow of energetic garbage being released from both body and mind?

Can a ‘professional’ who has yet to delve into their ‘stuff’, who has yet to fully and completely immerse themselves in their layers of pain, shame, inwards torment and torture, ever treat a person safely and with true awareness of their suffering and how deep it goes? The one thing Ana Maria knows how to bear is the rainy, stormy days of ‘The Self’, the nightmare moments when trauma is triggered and flash backs take you back there, when your body knows terror and remembers it in an instant. She knows tears and how they can hurt to cry them out of the face, but she came to tend to her tears and allow each pain accumulated throughout life to find its exit; stored experiences rained out of her, they really did.

Ponder on it… that’s all we ask today…

“Just because it’s raining, doesn’t mean you cannot learn to build your own umbrella.”

-Ana Maria Santuario, 2023.
