Introducing: Mantra Collections

Some things are strange, but true…

A few times, when in India, I attended a Bhajan*. It was just a wicked jam sesh really, although I hope any holy people forgive me for saying so. I prefer to say, it was my first taste of the energy that I also devoured in a blues-inspired jam session on another continent.

The Bhajan was all consuming, and my body continued to vibrate after the sound ceased. It was a physical experience as much as it was one for the ears and the voice. I am saddened by the lack of cultural-communal-creativity in the UK; overseas, cultures seem more colourful and free. I will admit it, this buttoned up British society just suffocates the life out of me, does it not you too?

Anyway, mantras are a powerful source of healing energy. You can trust me on this one, or not, the only thing I will ask you to consider before you choose, is this: play music and heal, well, could it be made any easier for you?

*Bhajan is a devotional song, a variation of vibration welcoming an experience of divine exchange. Various energies exist, Gospel, Buddhist Chant, Sanskrit sung prayers. All are beautiful, all are powerful, all exist for the very same reason… to express and receive the divine blessing of love.

The existing mantra collections available are:

Rather than make more resources for this area of the Self-Help Library, I am inviting in people of the faith, or those who practice regularly, to contribute to the space with a Donation of Service. Much can serve the people in need, those without enough hope, love and support to get by. Let us all come together and bring our uniqueness, talent, compassion and kindness to the table in the months and years ahead.

For now, take care, it is a long road we walk together, and we must make time to revisit safety, to rest and recover from change, and to formulate new and inventive ways to help those who suffer unnecessarily. Breathe, we’ve got this!

Time to help yourself…

The truth is, many of us expect help to show up when we need it to. Likely, the world has made it pretty hard for anyone to truly show up for you these days. We cannot foresee a future that is fogged by physical health scares, mass-declines in mental health, and food that makes us metaphorically deaf, dumb and stupid.

The truth is, there are no heroes. No one is coming. You can of course ask for help, but now that so many human beings are suffering acutely, the sad reality is, I think there may be too many people to recover via a 1:1 support system. But do not fear, you hold so much power in your choices; unfortunately, choosing the right things when your cognitive functioning is impaired can become very challenging, which is why we recommend the book, Recovery Foundations, to anyone trying to recover from darker times.
