Description

Pain is fuel, pain is a volcano waiting to erupt sometimes.  This world has made space to speak one’s pain into the world, to share it, and misery sure does like company, mine did, no judgement, I simply tended to the mind and heart in private spaces.  Then I wrote some letters, before wishing that I didn’t.  The world is messy, lots of people are trying to figure it out, I identified some problems, but also imagined possible solutions, debatable solutions, that part of this story rests elsewhere.  The letters were a rampage, if left ‘out there’, they will only take the reader on a mind rampage, on an emotional rollercoaster, one best left unridden.

The original manuscript contained the following: 39 letters, attachments, poems, posters and several copies of, The Santuario Post, a now retired complimentary publication that I simply had fun with.  The collection was primarily aimed at advocating for a safe society to be theorised around the children, a target that I am qualified to endeavour towards as professional who designed safe environments for children as a feature of their professional career.  The letters made an impact, but they are just history now.  Two letters evolved into, The Big Debate, another publication demonstrating the need for an answered question: A wholly free self-publishing press, safe or unsafe?  Shall we throw it into the debate ring?

As an aside, Faith in Change Publishing Ltd have proposed themselves as The U.K.’s first self-publishing moderation company.  The road traversed as publisher and writer taught us something, that not every piece of every voice is destined for publication.  It also taught us that moderation, as opposed to censorship, is an important regulating strategy that the self-publishing world must come to embrace, if only for the purposes of child protection.  There is a plan; semi-self-publishing, as a concept, enables the writer to live the full publishing experience, paying as they go, one gets to move at their own pace and alongside levels of financial affordability.  While the freelance services allow for basic self-publishing support, a safe stamp of approval on heavily self-published books can be attained via the ‘Publishing Partnership Pathway,’ a formal imprint service.  The two main publishing routes land a writer in the same place, with a book resting behind the reputation of an innovative publishing house.
