This self,
This illusive, uncontrollable thing,
Wears too many masks to count,
I really know nothing.

Who and what are you?
It is interesting to me that those fast asleep do not think upon these things, but alas, not all who roam this earth are born to think, which is an important fact to recognise and so too, accept. Some people placed upon the earth are here to challenge you, to provide the hard learning required along the road toward change. There can be no evolution without the conflict to encourage the shifts required…
But war, fighting, violence, destroy and destruct, my goodness, tried and tested, repetitively failed, why continue? Why repeat patterns of old that never won anybody anything but their own death, or that of millions of others, depending on your category of stature and wealth? Let the men planning these wars stand upon their front lines and see whether they actually encourage the same path then… I happen to think a war would end in the face of their own cowardice and the powers that be would forcibly find another route, but so long as their money holds tickets to life, they will sell yours without a second thought.
Mind manipulation, encouraged and perpetuated by your Hollywood movies and mainstream cultures, is an abhorrent misuse of influence. Then we have influencers, wearing their masks of fame and glory, based off a vane disposition to speak and be heard for saying what? What you say represents who you really are, it can be intensely revealing, and down to your core is where I see you… it’s important to question what you represent, who you are known to be, and who you will be remembered as being? What masks do you wear, have you become your famed social media self, or have you maintained modesty in the face of this glorified status?
And to those of you posting videos of your kids, please, ask what masks need the likes, what masks require the world to confirm your video as funny or interesting, what masks require the like button to exist? Removed of that aspect of yourself, who remains? Have you forgotten a person existed before social media took parts of your identity and tried to ‘sell’ your stories, tried to imitate the famous, just in the name of comments and likes… and money, the root of all that is ill-intended in the world.
Never forget that money may make life easier, but ask yourself, who am I becoming, along the road, please, and remember that you are influencing vulnerable hearts, minds and bodies… what stories are you selling? Never stop taking responsibility for the masks that you end up wearing, especially in the limelight, for they may matter more than you may ever dream or imagine – and not always in a good way.
