T.L.C. Breathwork

The breath, to breathe, such a powerful tool they missed in educational settings for too long.  To breathe can return a person to safety in their body, it down-regulates the central nervous system, and helps to calm the mind noise that can build without conscious interruption.  Breathwork is no new wave discovery though, yogic breath, or, pranayama, has been practiced for millennia, without need for scientific verification.  Before time demanded more, human beings relied on felt sense, lived experience and lived results, as opposed to what could be ‘proven’ in a laboratory.  Yet, today we can carry the knowing that science has attested to the benefits of breathwork and embrace a once yogic practice as a part of modern daily life.  As societies change and blend ancient wisdom with the modern need for knowledge, can we empower ourselves first, before turning and doing the same for the children of the world?
