Introducing: Poster Collections

Grow strong, grow in the directions you must…

Words are an important part of life, they are our everything, just as they are when spoken in sign language or braille. Words shape the stories we tell, the worlds that we imagine, and more… how we see ourselves. This world tells us many things, that we are ugly, desperate, lonely, full of longing, greedy, selfish, that we are wrong and must be what is apparently right. It also tells us that we are killing our planet, which is a lot of shame, blame and cruelty to heap onto powerless people and children (we all know those in control are to blame, so why are we carrying their empty consciences?).

We are born youthful, some people hold onto that sense of being into old age, is it because they managed to escape The Hell that catches most of us in it’s nets, the one made up of flashing lights and movie stars, of twerking pop stars and sexually aroused characters in a screen where people wake up wearing makeup? Is the world losing its grip on reality because too much make-believe is thrown out into the atmosphere? Are the popular creatives healing themselves, as opposed to creating, and have their traumas now begun to become everybody else’s? Has modern ‘creativity’ become a form of transferable trauma? If so, how do we protect ourselves? Important questions…

You are what you absorb, a truth that I live by. Watch a sad film…. absorb it and cry. Listen to a sad song, even as a teenager who has never experienced love… feel another’s heartache, and perhaps come to expect it. This world is not delivering art, it does not offer my eyes and ears beauty when I turn onto Netflix, BBC 1, or even nature programmes, otherwise beautiful shows now scaring the life out of everyone… out of people powerless to change anything of true impact or scale.

I remember watching David Attenborough as a girl, he was my favourite storyteller, but now his fear is becoming even mine own, which means it’s pretty big news that The BBC are failing to cover, once again. My biggest fear is that The Polar Bears are dying, they’ve always been a majestic favourite of mine to observe on the screen. I had a thought this week that apparently many have had… please send man-made floating islands up into The North Pole and save them!!! Please, just save them!!! The Panda is gone, we all know it, polar bears do not have to be.

The debate online is that anything man-made will not behave as the ice islands do… well, duh! But at least they can stop drowning, right??? It’s like a crisis response, you don’t solve the whole problem at the start, you tackle the first thing you can… stop them from drowning!!!! After that, we get some time to breath and think clearly. When we are all frightened, our brains do not function well enough to make ethical, logical, rational choices. We are quite literally disabled by fear, something those in power know all too well. Why do you think the news is literally an 18+ t.v. show these days? Why do you think it is that instead of honest, informative, useful information? Just think on it, won’t you?

To celebrate my love of nature and to remove the touch of humankind (the touch of easily identifiable triggers and fear inducing imagery), I chose to return to this sense of ‘treasuring all’ that I had as a girl, and as a wanderer of this big wide world. The beauty of Mother Earth healed me, her food became the best medicine (ever), and her peaceful soundtrack soothed me and settled me into a restful state that I have chosen never to leave. For that reason, I welcome you warmly to a space of natural imagery and well selected sounds. This website will only ever offer you peaceful places to retreat to, a sanctuary of sorts.

As for the words, some may confront, others may offer gentleness and compassion, I simply hope there is something for everyone. My advice to you is this… trust yourself. Deep down inside, you really do know what you need. Getting to a destination takes multiple steps, sometimes the same steps need to be taken daily for years before they become fluid and easy. Time is your friend, the only thing that may not be is your own mind, especially during challenging recovery periods. These posters will work if you place them around your home, you need not force yourself to read them religiously, think thoroughly as to how subliminal messaging works, and trust that what you place around you in your environment is noticed by your brain, whether you are consciously aware of it or not.

Recovery takes time, so does change in general, so follow your intuition and perhaps pick out some posters that might come to serve your life journey, they are always free to download…

Perhaps you might prefer the video options, available for purchase in bundles, or for free on YouTube and social media. I consider these posters and videos to be mini-meditations or contemplations, wake up calls, so to speak:

Time to help yourself…

The truth is, many of us expect help to show up when we need it to. Likely, the world has made it pretty hard for anyone to truly show up for you these days. We cannot foresee a future that is fogged by physical health scares, mass-declines in mental health, and food that makes us metaphorically deaf, dumb and stupid.

The truth is, there are no heroes. No one is coming. You can of course ask for help, but now that so many human beings are suffering acutely, the sad reality is, I think there may be too many people to recover via a 1:1 support system. But do not fear, you hold so much power in your choices; unfortunately, choosing the right things when your cognitive functioning is impaired can become very challenging, which is why we recommend the book, Recovery Foundations, to anyone trying to recover from darker times.
