Looking up has always been a thing… what we forget to do is look within with equal measure, for that is where the infinite reflects and mirrors your own nature and mechanism.
To pray is a journey without destination and may be considered a way of developing a life of grace, thanks and generosity of heart. We apply the sandwich theory to our own prayer practices, so, for instance, should you be in dire straights, pray for yourself first, then another, then yourself again. When no one is taking care of you, grant yourself the courage to do this for yourself. Where life is pretty kind to you for the time being, pray for another, pray for yourself, then pray for another again. Perhaps light a candle with each prayer, write them down, speak them aloud or whisper them within.
Prayers connect a person to an infinite resource of strength, resilience and faith, they can offer a safe place to plead, beg and be angry. Trust they are heard, but embrace that you have no power, control or influence over how they are answered. You may be called upon to take powerful actions, to let things go, you may be asked to suffer so that you can grow and change…
The divine does indeed work in mysterious ways, which is why faith can carry you through when nothing else can, will or does. Trust in the greater plans of the infinite and be at peace with your position in it, for it knows exactly what it is doing. Use these tools to begin with, if you feel them a requirement, do gift them away too, we don’t mind. Enjoy absorbing another’s faith until you have firmly established your own life of devotion, thanks and presence.
