Sinking Memory

Sinking
Are these days
Of time and mist

Sinking
Are the memories
Of you and me

Long gone
Have you been
Too far to see

Time has taken you
too far from me
so far

I feel you here
In the place you occupied
So fully, completely and utterly

At first
Heart always felt empty
But you filled me up anyway

Of the magic I knew
Was real
This confirmed that it was real

Our love
Our shared light
Our missed life

Gone down with time
Into my depths
With other buried treasures

You still linger
Threads of time awaken
The smallest touch

Glimmer
You glimmer
In moments now lost

Lost at sea
My heart declares
Will you find your way home to me?

Like a sailor of old
The unknown calling you forth
Will you swim the swims I had swum?

Cliffs traversed
Storms survived
Time…

Give it all time…
The wind whispers
To this heart full of only you

Enough waiting
The island speaks
Come home for yourself

Breathe my air
Drink and eat
Riches untold

Fill up on your own love
For when that man returns
To your coastal boundaries

Never again
To riot, pillage and rape your lands
Your tides withstand

The onslaught of love
That broke your heart up
Into small shells of itself

Your island permits no man
No woman or child
This love, space and moment

Is yours
Only yours
Just yours

Can that become your enough?

He never returned
That sailor
But when I turned inwards

And found all that I would ever need, want or value
It was enough found
To satiate many lifetimes…

For I was my version of enough
I was the love that awakened
And he only glass in the sands of time
