The Day You Left

The day that you left
Was horrifically reminiscent
Of death.

You weren’t ever looking,
Were you?
At my pain, trauma and struggle?

You only ever saw your ugliness?
Projected out as a mirror,
To see your self,
In me.

You thought that I was the monster.
But I was the victim,
And you, the monster.

Time mended my broken
Shattered bones.
But not the heart that you caged.

I thought you held the keys,
To these chains
That you were making,
Bending to your desire.

But my key came
In the form of light, love, harmony…
Something beyond your reach.

And now I sit beyond your reach.
Safe.
Forever safe, from your grasping hands.

Thank the light
for Saving me from you,
When I was unable to save myself.

You are gone now,
Thank the light.
Your life will be forever tainted by you,
But no longer mine,
Will be. Thank the light.
Time took your memory from my heart and mind,
Thank the light for erasing each and every thing you ever did.

I hope the pains that your life perpetually explores,
Turn you inwards,
To cleanse your self from these darknesses,
That cause harm to the world around you.
I hope the pain you caused becomes the pain you feel,
Let that guide you towards light,
Let light break your chains,
Just as it broke open my own.

I wish you freedom from your Self.
